The visual target was “serious frame, unserious premise.” Keeping the lighting, costume language, and composition grounded lets the small coffee-break behavior become the punchline.
What we would improve next
More character continuity would make the gag land harder: the audience should recognize the wizard before the coffee problem arrives. That is the kind of limitation worth documenting because it changes the next production decision.
